תְּחִנּוֹת שְׂדֵה בוֹכִים

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם אֲשֶׂר יָצַר אֶתְכֶם בַּדִּין וְזָן וְכִלְכֵּל אֶתְכֶם בַּדִּין והֵמִית אֶתְכֶם בַּדִּין וְיוֹדֵעַ מִסְפַּר כֻּלְּכֶם בַּדִּין וְהוּא עָתִיד לְהַחֲיוֹתְכֶם וּלְקַיֵּם אֶתְכֶם בַּדִּין בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ מְחַיֵּה הַמֵּתִים.

אַתָּה גִבּוֹר לְעוֹלָם אֲדֹנָי מְחַיֵּה מֵתִים אַתָּה רַב לְהוֹשִׁיעַ מְכַלְכֵּל חַיִּים בְּחֶֶסֶד מְחַיֵּה מֵתִים בְּרַחֲמִים רַבִּים סוֹמֵךְ נוֹפְלִים וְרוֹפֵא חוֹלִים וּמַתִּיר אֲסוּרִים וּמְקַיֵּם אֱמוּנָתוֹ לִישֵׁנֵי עָפָר מִי כָמוֹךָ בַּעַל גְבוּרוֹת וּמִי דוֹמֶה לָּךְ מֶלֶךְ מֵמִית וּמְחַיֶּה וּמַצְמִיחַ יְשׁוּעָה וְנֶאֱמָן אַתָּה לְהַחֲיוֹת מֵתִים.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who fashioned you with justice, nourished and sustained you with justice, took your lives with justice, knows the sum total of you all with justice, and will restore and resuscitate you with judgement. Blessed are You, Lord, who resuscitates the dead.

You are eternally mighty, Lord. You give life to the dead and have great power to save. Sustainer of the living with loving-kindness, and with compassion revives the dead. Supporting the fallen, healing the sick, setting captives free, and keeping faith with they who sleep in the dust. Who is like you, Master of might, and to whom can You be compared, O King who brings death and gives life, and makes salvation grow? And faithful are You to revive the dead.

אֵל עֶליוֹן, שׁוֹפֵט צֶדֶק, הִנֵּה עָלָה לְרָצוֹן לְפָנֶיךָ לָקַחַת אֶת אָבִי הַיָּקָר הַשָּמַיְמָה מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה, שָׁם נַפְשׁוֹ תֶחֱסֶה בְּצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ וּבִמְנוּחָתוֹ כָבוֹד וְשָׁלוֹם. אַךְ נַפְשִׁי מְלֵאָה תּוּגָה וְלִבִּי דַוָי, כִּי מִיּוֹם לֻקַח מִמֶּנִּי חָסְרָה אַהֲבָתוֹ וְדַאֲגָתוֹ בַּעֲדִי, הֲלֹא הוּא הִדְרִיכַנִי בַּדֶּרֶךְ הַטּוֹבָה וְיְשָׁרָה לִבְחוֹר בַּטּוֹב וּמָאוֹס בְּרָע, נָתַן לִי לַחְמִי וּמֵימַי, צִמְרִי וּפִשְׁתִּי וְאֶת הַכֹּל פָּעַל לְמַעֲנִי. וְעַתָּה הָלַךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ כָּל הָאָרֶץ וְתִפְאַרְתִּי לָאָרֶץ הָשְׁלָכָה לֹא אֶשְׁמַע עוֹד מוּסָרָיו הַטּוֹבִים וְהַיְשָׁרִים בְּלֶכְתּוֹ דֶּרֶךְ עוֹלָם נְתִיבַת אַל־מָוֶת, וְהִנֵּה הַיּוֹם (הִגִּיעַ תּוֹר יוֹם תְּקוּפַת הֵאָסְפּוֹ מֵאֶרֶץ הַחַיִּים וְ)הָלַכְתִּי שְׂדֵה בוֹכִים לְחַנֵּן עַל קִבְרוֹ, וּפֹה אֶזְכְּרָה לְךָ אֱלֹהִים וְאֶהֶמָיָה, כִּי תֶעֱרַב שִׂיחָתִי אֲשֶׁר מִקִירוֹת לִבִּי לְךָ אֶשְׁפֹּכָה, לְהַעֲלוֹת זִכְרוֹן נִשְׁמַת אָבִי הַטְּהוֹרָה הַיּוֹם לְפָנֶיךָ לְטוֹבָה. (כַּאֲשֶׁר עָרַכְתִּי הַיּוֹם נֵר לְהַעֲלוֹת זִכְרוֹנוֹ תָּמִיד לְפָנַי, כִּי נֵר אֱלֹהִים נִשְׁמַת אָדָם) תֵּשֵׁב נַפְשׁוֹ בְּמַעֲלַת קְדוֹשִׁים וּטְהוֹרִים צְרוּרָה בִּצְרוֹר הַחַיִּים, הַשְׁכֵּן רוּחוֹ בִּמְקוֹם הַצָּפוּן לַצַּדִּיקִים לַחְסוֹת בְּסֵתֶר צֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ, תֵּן נִשְׁמָתוֹ לְהִתְעַנֵּג מִזִיו כְּבוֹדֶךָ הַרְבֵּץ אוֹתָהּ בִּנְעִימַת נֶצַח, הַשְׂבִּיעַ אוֹתָהּ בּשׂוֹבַע שְׂמָחוֹת לְשַׂמְּחָהּ בְּחֶדְוַת עוֹלָם, הַעֲלֵה אוֹתָהּ לְמַעְלָה עִם הַיּוֹשְׁבִים רִאשׁוֹנָה לִפְנֵי הֲדוֹם רַגְלֶךָ, לְהִתְעַדֵּן מִזֹּהַר פָּנֶיךְ לֵאוֹר בְּאוֹר הַחַיִּים וְכַאֲשֶׁר בְּעוֹדוֹ בַּחַיִּים, בְּעַד טוּבִי פָּעַל כָּל יְמֵי הֱיוֹתוֹ, כֵּן בְּחַיֵּי עוֹלָם יָגֵן עוֹד זְכוּתוֹ עָלָי. וּבְטוּבְךָ תִּזְכּוֹר אֶת מַעֲשָׂיו הַטּוֹבִים וּפְעֻלּוֹתָיו הַיְשָׁרוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה עַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וְתִסְמְכֵנִי וְתִסְעָדֵנִי בְּכָל מַעֲשֵׂה יָדִי, לֵב טָהוֹר בְּרָא לִי אֱלֹהִים וְרוּחַ נָכוֹן חַדֵּשׁ בְּקִרְבִּי, הַרְחֵק מִמֶּנִי כָּל רֶשַׁע וְהַטֵּה רוּחִי וְנַפְשִׁי לְעָבְדְּךָ בְּלֵבָב שָׁלֵם. הֱיֵה נָא אַתָּה מְפַלְטִי וּמוֹשִׁיעִי, הַקְשִׁיבָה לְקוֹל שַׁוְעִי וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי, וּכְרַחֵם אָב עַל בָּנִים כֵּן תְּרַחֵם עָלַי וְהָרֵם קַרְנִי עַד יוֹם אָשׁוּבָה לַעֲלוֹת אֶל אָבִי וְאֶל מְקוֹם מְנוּחָתִי עַד עֵת יִהְיוּ מֵתֶיךָ, יָקִיצוּ יְשֵׁנֵי עָפָר, וְתָשִׁיב לֵב אָבוֹת עַל בָּנִים וְלֵב בָּנִים עַל אֲבוֹתָם אָמֵן:

God Most High, Righteous Judge: It pleased You to take my dear father from earth to You in heaven, where his soul shelters in the shadow of Your wings and his rest is in honour and peace of mind. But my soul is full of sorrow, my heart is broken, for from the day he was taken from me, I have needed his love and miss his care towards me. He led me towards the good and virtuous path, in order to choose good and to avoid evil. He foresaw my needs of food and drink, my clothing and shelter, and thus did everything for my sake. And now that he is gone the way of all man, and my glory is laid low, now that I can hear no more his good and upright counsel, for he is gone the way of man, the path of death. Behold, (the anniversary of his death) I have come to the field of crying, to pray to You, O God at his grave in sighing and an outpouring of my entreaties from the deepest recesses of my heart, to elevate in goodness the memory of my father's pure soul (as I kindle today a light to elevate his memory before You in perpetuity for the light of God is the soul of man). Let his soul be established in the bundle of life with those elevated souls of the holy and pure, and cause his spirit to dwell in the memorial place kept for the righteous sheltering in the shadow of Your wings. Let his soul enjoy the brightness of Your glory, immerse it in everlasting salvation, satiate it in abundance of joy and eternal happiness, and nourish and elevate it to those who sit foremost at Your holy footstool, to be refined by the rays emanating from Your face and be illumined by the light of eternal life. Let his merit be a shield to me. And in Your goodness remember the good deeds and upright dealings with which he conducted himself on this earth; and in their merit support me in all the work of my hands. O God! Distance me from all wickedness, incline my mind. and my soul to serve You with a perfect heart. Be You my Savior and Redeemer; listen to the voice of my supplication and help me. Bestow Your compassion on me like a father over his son. Raise my radiance until the day that I will be united with my father and to my resting place, until the time that the dead shall live again; and when those who sleep in the dust will awaken, the hearts of parents shall return to the children, and the hearts of children to their parents, Amen.

אֵל רַחוּם הַיּוֹם בָּאתִי הֵנָּה מְקוֹם מְנוּחַת אָחִי מַחְמַד לִבִּי, יֹונֵק מִשְּׁדֵי אִמִּי אֲשֶׁר מִבֶּטֶן אֶחָד יָצָאנוּ, וְעַתָּה נִסַּע וְנִגְלָה מִמֶּנִּי וְנִשְׁמָתוֹ עָלְתָה מָרֹום לְהִתְעַנֵּג בְּנָעֳמֶךָ וּלְהִתְעַדֵּן בְּהֵיכָלֶךָ, וְנַפְשִׁי מָרָה לִי, בְּזָכְרִי אֵךְ יָשַׁבְנוּ כְּשֶׁבֶת אַחִים גַּם יַחַד בְּעוֹדוֹ בַּחַיִּים חַיָתוֹ, וְעַתָּה אֵינֶנוּ. אָנָּא יְיָ אֱלֹהִים שְׁמַע נָא הַיּוֹם לְקוֹל עַבְדְךָ הַמִּתְפַּלֵּל אֵלֶיךָ בְּעַד נִשְׁמַת אָחִיו (לְקוֹל אֲמָתְךָ הַמִּתְפַּלֶּלֶת אֵלֶיךָ בְּעַד נִשְׁמַת אָחִיהָ) הַשָּׁבָה אֵלֶיךָ. תְּהִי מְנוּחָתָהּ כָּבוֹד וְהַעֲלֵה אוֹתָהּ מַעְלָה מַעְלָה בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי. יִזְרַח כַּשֶׁמֶשׁ אוֹרָה ותָחֵל עַד עוֹלָם בְּאוֹר הַחַיִּים, וְלִי אֲנִי עַבְדְּךָ (אֲמָתְךָ) הָעִיר אַהֲבָתְךָ עָלַי וּלְמַעַן זְכוּת אָחִי אֲשֶׁר נַפְשִׁי קְשׁוּרָה בְּנַפְשֹׁו תִּתְּנֵנִי נָא לְחֵן לְחֶסֶד וּלְרַחֲמִים בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּסְלַח וּמְחַל לְכָל פְּשָׁעַי, שִׁמְעָה תְפִלָּתִי הַיּוֹם וְאַל תֶּחֱרַשׁ לְדִמְעָתִי וְאֶת אָחִי תִּפְקֹד בְּשָׁלוֹם וְנַפְשׁוֹ תְהִי צְרוּרָה בִּצְרֹור הַחַיִּים עַד כִּי יָקִיצוּ כָל שֹׁכְבֵי קֶבֶר לַעְמֹד לְגֹורָלָם לְקֵץ הַיָמִין אָמֵן:

Merciful God: Today I have come here, the resting place of my brother, the jewel of my heart, my soul mate, my precious, who came as a brother from the same womb as I. How did death come and pluck the flower! He journeyed to rest and I am left behind. My voice now cries out to You, O Lord, for his soul and spirit. Let his good deeds, done during his life, come before You as a boundless inheritance with that of the righteous and pious who shelter under the shadow of Your wings. And in his merit, I - who prays here today for his soul - ask You to protect me, to hear my voice though it is outside of Your sanctuary, and that the expression of my desire will be conveyed to You by his soul. I trust in You, O Lord, and believe in Your name. Grant his soul everlasting rest and eternal tranquility, and in his peace may I too be granted peace. Remember please his deeds and do to him as is good in Your eyes, that it may be well with me for his sake and my soul may accord with his in harmony to fear Your Name until I depart this life and am no more. Strengthen me please in perfect fear of You, grant me strength to fulfill Your commandments with a perfect heart; and may the words of my mouth come pleasingly to You, Amen.

נוֹרָא עֲלִילָה, הַיּוֹם בָּאתִי עַד הֲלוֹם מְקוֹם מְנוּחַת אֲחוֹתִי רַעְיָתִי נֶפֶשׁ חִשְׁקִי וּמַחְמַדִי אֲשֶׁר מִבֶּטֶן אֶחָד יָצָאנוּ, אֲהָהּ, אֵיךְ עָלָה הַמָּוֶת וְהַשּׁוֹשַׁנָּה נִקְטָפָה, הִיא נָסְעָה לִמְנוּחָה וַאֲנִי נִשְׁאַרְתִּי בַּאֲנָחָה, עַתָּה אֶשָּׂא קוֹלִי אֵלֶיךָ יְיָ בְּעַד נַפְשָׁהּ רוּחָהּ וְנִשְׁמָתָהּ, תָבֹאנָה נָא פְעֻלֹתֶיהָ הַטּוֹבוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשְׂתָה כָל יָמֶיהָ לְפָנֶיךָ וְתִירַשׁ נַחֲלָה בְּלִי מְצָרִים עִם נַפְשׁוֹת הַנָּשִׁים הַצְּנוּעוֹת הַחוֹסוֹת בְּצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ וּבִזְכוּתָהּ תָּגֵן עָלַי הַמִּתְפַּלֵּל (הַמִּתְפַּלֶלֶת) בַּעֲדָהּ, שְׁמַע מֵהֵיכָלְךָ קוֹלִי וּמִנּוֹגַהּ נִשְׁמָתָהּ תַּנִּיהַּ חָשְׁכִּי, הֲלֹא לְךְ יְיָ קִוִּיתִי וּבְשִׁמְךָ בָטַחְתִּי, תֵּן גַּם מְנוּחַת עוֹלָם וְשַׁלְוַת נֶצַח לְנַפְשָׁהּ וּבִשְׁלוֹמָהּ יִהְיֶה לִי שָׁלוֹם, פְּקוֹד נָא אֶת מַעֲשֶׂיהָ וַעֲשֵׂה לָהּ הַטּוֹב בְּעֵינֶיךָ לְמַעַן יִיטַב לִי בַּעֲבוּרָהּ וְהָיְתָה נַפְשִׁי בִּגְלָלָהּ לְיַחֵד אֶת לְבָבִּי לְיִרְאָה אֶת שְׁמֶךָ בְּטֶרֶם אֵלֶךָ גַם אָנִי וְאֵינֶנִּי, חַזְקֵנִי נָא בְּיִרְאָתֶךָ הַטְּה

Mighty, Exalted: I have come today to the resting place of my dear sister, my soul mate, my precious, who came as a sister from the same womb as I. How did death come and pluck the flower! אֵל רַחוּם, הִנֵּה בָאתִי הַיּוֹם עַל קֶבֶר בְּנִי הַנֶּחְמָד אֲשֶׁר בִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב נָתַתָּ אוֹתוֹ לִי זֶה יָמִים עֲלֵי אֶרֶץ וּבִרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב לָקַחְתָּ אוֹתוֹ מִמֶּנִּי לָשׁוּב אֶל הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר לֻקַח מִשָּׁם, וְעַתָּה הֵן אֲנִי נִשְׁאַרְתִּי בְיָגוֹן עַל פִּרְיִי כִּי נִקְטָף. אָבִי שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם, אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ מָה רַבָּה אַהֲבָתִי אוֹתוֹ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּ בְּלִבִּי, אֲהָהּּ! הֲלֹא עֶצֶם מֵעֲצָמַי הוּרְדָה פֹּה לֶעָפָר, וְלַקֶּבֶר הוּבַל כָּל כְּבוֹדִי וַהֲדָרִי, עַתָּה עַל בְּנִי אֶתֹּךְ כַּמַּיִם שַׁאֲגוֹתַי כִּי נֶאֱסָף. אוֹיָה, דְּמָעוֹת שָׁלִישׁ עַל לֶחְיִי וְעֵינַי מְקוֹר מַיִם עַל אָבְדַּן בְּנִי הַנֶחְמָד חֶמְדַּת לְבָבִי וְתַאֲוַת נַפְשִׁי אֲשֶׁר נִכְמְרוּ נְחוּמַי עָלָיו, מַה גָּדְלָה חֶדְוָתִי בְּהִוָלְדוֹ וְעַתָּה מָה אֲמוּלָה לִבָּתִי, בְּשִׂמְחָתוֹ שָׂמַחְתִּי וּבִשְׂשׂוֹנוֹ שַׂשְׂתִּי כְּעַל כָּל הוֹן, עַתָּה אֶקְרָאֵהוּ וְלֹא יַעֲנֶה אֲבַקְשֵׁהוּ וְלֹא אֶמְצָאֵהוּ כִּי בְנִי הַנֶּחְמָד חָמַק מִמֶּנִּי וְעָבַר מֵאִתִּי, וְאַתָּה יְיָ סְלַח וּמְחַל בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךְ בַּחֲמַת רוּחִי, כִּי נַפְשִׁי מָרָה לִי וְלִבִּי דַוָי, מַעֲשֶׂיךָ בַּסֵּתֶר וּנְתִיבוֹתֶיךָ נֶעֶלְמוּ מֵעֵין כָּל חָי, אִם עֲוֹנוֹתַי עָנוּ בִי, כַּפְּרֵנִי, הַצּוּר תָּמִים פָּעֳלֶךָ, שְׁמַע נָא קוֹלִי הַיּוֹם וְנַחֲמֵנִי נָא בְצָרָי, תֵּן בְּלִבִּי הַשְׁקֵט וְנַחַת, הֵן אָנֹכִי עוֹמֵד עַל גְוִיָּה יְקָרָה אֲשֶׁר זִכְרוֹנָהּ לֹא יָמוּשׁ מִמֶּנִּי כָּל יְמֵי הֶיוֹתִי עֲלֵי אָרֶץ, הָסֵר קִצְפְּךָ מִמֶּנִּי וּמִבֵּיתִי (וּשְׁמֹר אֶת יוֹצְאֵי חַלָצַי הַנִּשְׁאָרִים לִי בָאָרֶץ). וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּתִי לְךָ יְיָ אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדְךָ פִּקְדוֹן כָּל נֶפֶשׁ כִּי תֵרָצֶה נִשְׁמָתוֹ לְפָנֶיךָ כְּעוֹלָה וּכְקָרְבָּן וְנַפְשׁוֹ הַטְּהוֹרָה תָּאִיר מוּל פְּנֵי שְׁכִינָתֶךָ וְלֹא תוֹסִיף עוֹד יְיָ לְדַאֲבָה אוֹתִי וְרוּחוֹ הַשׁוֹכֶנֶת בִּמְעוֹן קָדְשְׁךָ מָכוֹן לְשִׁבְתָּהּ בְָּחַרְתָּ תִּפְקוֹד בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים לְטוֹבָה עִם כָּל הַצַּדִּיקִים וְהַצַּדְקָנִּיּוֹת הַשּׁוֹכְבִים פֹּה, וּבִגְלָלָהּ תְּמַלֵא יָמַי בְּטוֹב וּשְׁנוֹתַי בִּנְעִימִים
(ז) עִם אִשְׁתִּי (וּבָנַי)

וְתִתְּנֵנוּ לְחֵן וּלְחֶסֶד בְּעֵינֶיךְָ כִּי חַסְדְּךָ לִירֵאֶיךָ מֵעוֹלָם וְעַד עוֹלָם וְצִדְקָתְךָ עַד דּוֹר וָדוֹר, אָמֵן:

Merciful God! Behold, I have come today to the grave of my beloved son, whom by Your good will You gave me for some time on earth, and by Your good will have taken from me to return to the earth from which he came. Behold, I stand here in sorrow at this plucked fruit. Father in heaven: You know how great is the love for him which You placed in my heart. Woe! Are not the bones of my bones interred here as dust, and all my honour lying buried in the grave? And now for my son, who is with You, I pour out my unstoppable tears as water. Tears flow down my cheeks, my eyes are like a spring of water over the loss of my beloved son, the love of my heart, the pride of my soul on whom my compassion rests. How great it was my joy at his birth, and now, how deep is the sorrow of my heart. His joy made me glad, his happiness made me happy above all wealth. Now I call him, he does not answer; I seek him and he is not to be found because my beloved son has been torn and passed from me. And You, O Lord, forgive me and annul my transgressions as I entreat You in the anger of my spirit, because my soul is deeply grieved and my heart languishes. Your deeds are secret, Your ways hidden from the eyes of all living. If my sins testify against me, forget me, O Rock, perfect in all Your work. Please hear my voice today and comfort me in my distress. Grant my heart stillness and rest. Behold, I stand here beside the body of a loved being, whose memory will not depart from me while I am on earth. Turn Your anger away from me and my family (and guard my other descendant(s) on this earth). My prayer is to You, O God, in whose hand all souls are saved, for his soul it pleased You to accept as though an offering and sacrifice. Let his pure soul be a light beside Your glory, let me no longer be troubled, and may his spirit reside in the holy residence where You, in Your great mercy, have chosen to dwell, together with the souls of all pious men and women who rest here. For the sake of my son's soul, fill my days for good and my years with pleasantness together with my spouse (and child(ren)). Grant me favour and grace in Your eyes, for Your graciousness extends toward those who fear You, from everlasting to everlasting, and Your righteousness from generation to generation, Amen.

הָאֵל הָרַחוּם, הַמְרַחֵם עַל כָּל בְּרִיּוֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר רִחַם אֶת אֲבוֹתֵינוּ הַצַּדִיקִים וְהַיְשָׁרִים, הוּא יְרַחֵם עַל נִשְׁמַת   בְּנִי .... ... .... אֲשֶׁר גּוּפוֹ  בִּתִּי .... ... .... אֲשֶׁר גּוּפָהּ  פֹּה נִטְמָן, וְיַעֲלֶה אֹתָהּ לְגַן הָעֵדֶן לְהִשְׁתַּעֲשֵׁעַ שָׁם עִם הַצַּדִּיקִים וְהַחֲסִידִים,  (ז) וּתְהִי מִיתָתוֹ  (נ) וּתְהִי מִיתָתָהּ  כַּפָּרָה עָלַי כְּקָרְבָּן שֶׁנִתְקַבֵּל בְּרָצוֹן לְפָנֶיךְ אֱלֹהֵי עוֹלָם, וְתִמְחוֹל חֲטָאֵינוּ, וְתִתֶּן לָנוּ בָּנִים, יְרֵאִים וּשְׁלֵמִים, עוֹסְקִים בְּתוֹרָתֶךָ וּבְמִצְוֹתֶיךָ, וְתָסִיר מִמֶּנּוּ וּמִכָּל עַמְךָ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל כּל צָרָה יָגוֹן וַאֲנָחָה, אָמֵן:

Merciful God who takes care of all His creations, who showed mercy to our pious and virtuous ancestors, may He have mercy on the soul of my son ... ... ... my daughter ... ... ... who lies buried here. Elevate that soul to the Garden of Eden, to be there occupied with the pious and God-fearing; let his/her death make atonement for me as though a freewill offering brought voluntarily to You, O eternal God. Forgive our sins, and grant us children, God-fearing and wholesome, occupied with learning Your Torah and commandments; and remove from us and from all Your people, the house of Israel, all disasters, sorrow and lamentation. Amen.

אֵל עֶליוֹן, בְּלֵב נִשְׁבָּר וְנִדְכָּה, בָּאתִי עַד הֲלוֹם לִשְׁפּוֹךְ אֶת נַפְשִׁי עַל קֶבֶר רַעְיָתִי הַנְעִימָה וְהַנֶּחְמָדָה לִי בְחַיֶּהָ וּבְמוֹתָהּ עוֹד מִלִּבִּי לֹא נִפְרָדָה, נֶפֶשׁ טְהוֹרָה וּבָרָה לֻקְחָה מִמֶּנִּי בְּמִשְׁפָּטֶךָ הַצֶּדֶק, וַתַּעַל לִשְׁכּוֹן מְרוֹם שִׁבְתֶּךָ, לְהִתְעַנֵּג מִטּוּב גַּן עֲדָנֶךָ לְקַבֵּל פְּרִי אַהֲבָתָהּ הַנֶּאֱמָנָה אֲשֶׁר אָהֲבָה אוֹתִי כָּל יְמֵי הֶיוֹתָהּ פֹּה עֲלֵי אָרֶץ, שָׁם נַפְשָׁהּ בַּטּוֹב תָּלִין עִם הַנָּשִׁים הַתְּמִימוֹת וְהַיְשָׁרוֹת לִירַשׁ נַחֲלָה בְּלִי מְצָרִים נַחֲלַת עוֹלָם מִנָּשִׁים בָּאֹהֶל תְּבֹרָךְ, אֵשֶׁת חַיִל עֲטֶרֶת בַּעְלָהּ, יִרְאַת יְיָ וְטוֹבַת טָעַם, וּכְיִרְאָתָהּ לְמַלְאוֹת מִצְוֹת יוֹצְרָהּ, כֵּן אַהֲבָתָהּ לְמַלְאוֹת חֵפֶץ בַּעֲלָהּ בְּלֵבָב שָׁלֵם. וְעַתָּה אֵל טוֹב זְכָר נָא מַעֲשֶׂיהָ הַטּוֹבִים וּפְקוֹד אוֹתָהּ לְשָׁלוֹם, לִנְחוֹל אֵת שְׂכָרָהּ בְּאַרְצוֹת הַחַיִּים, תֵּן לְמְנוּחָתָהּ שַׁלְוָת עוֹלָם, וּבִגְלָלָהּ תַּטֶּה אָזְנֶיךָ לְקוֹל בַּעְלָהּ לָתֵת מְנוּחָה לְרוּחוֹ הַנִשְׁבְּרָה וּלְנַפְשׁוֹ הָאוּמְלָלָה, בְּאֶבְדַּן מִמֶּנִּי נֶפֶשׁ עֲדִינָה אֲשֶׁר לִשְׁמָהּ וּלְזִכְרָהּ הָיְתָה תַּאֲוַת נַפְשׁוֹ. רַחֵם עָלַי (וְעַל יוֹצְאֵי חֲלָצַי הַנֶּעֶזְבִים מֵאֵם יְקָרָה וְנִכְבָּדָה) וְחַזְּקֵנִי בְּשִׁבְרִי, הַרְאֵנִי אֶת טוּבְךָ בִּגְלַל הַמַּעֲשִׂים הַטוֹבִים אֲשֶׁר פָּעֲלָה אִשְׁתִּי הַנִכְבָּדָה בַּחַיִּים חַיָּתָהּ וְנַחֵם אֶת לִבִּי הַנִּשְׁבָּר, וְנִשְׁמַת רַעְיָתִי הַטְּהוֹרָה תּוּבַל בִּשְׂמָחוֹת וָגִיל בְּהֵיכָלֶךָ, לַעֲלוֹז בְּמִשְׁכָּנָהּ הָעֶלְיוֹן פְּנִימָה עִם נִשְׁמוֹת כָּל נְשֵׁי חַיִל הַכְּבוּדוֹת וְהַצְּנוּעוֹת עַד עֵת קֵץ, עֵת יִהְיוּ מֵתֶיךָ שׁוֹכְנֵי עָפָר יָקִיצוּ, לַחֲזוֹת בְּנוֹעַם יְיָ וּלְבַקֵר בְּהֵיכָלוֹ בְּשׂוֹבַע שְׂמָחוֹת נֶצַח אָמֵן:

God Most High: With a broken and a contrite heart I have come here to pour out my soul at the grave of my dear and closest companion from whom my heart was separated by her death. That pure soul was taken from me, in Your righteous judgment, to rise to the lofty seat of Your residence, there to enjoy the bounty of the garden of Eden and receive the fruit of that faithful love which she gave to me all her days with me here on this earth. There her soul shall rest with the perfect and upright women who inherit without limit an eternal legacy, women blessed in Your tent, women of courage who are a crown to their husbands, God-fearing and pleasant goodness, to fulfill in awe the commands of her Creator and in love fulfilling with a good heart the wishes of her husband.
Now Dear God, in Your goodness, please remember her good deeds; grant her a peaceful existence to inherit her reward in the land of everlasting life; give her eternal tranquility and, for her sake, listen to the voice of her husband, pacify his broken spirit and traumatised soul on the loss of one so refined whose name and memory he so dearly cherished. Have mercy on me (and my child(ren) who lost a beloved and honoured mother), strengthen me in my distress, show me Your goodness on account of the merit of the good deeds performed by my beloved wife during her life, and comfort my broken heart. Nourish the soul of my pure mate with joy and cheer in Your sanctuary, there to rejoice in Your innermost high abode with the souls of all valiant, honoured and virtuous women, until the end of time when the dead shall live again, those who slumber in dust shall awake to God's pleasantness and see his temple with fulsome joy, Amen.

אֵל רַחוּם, דַּיַּן אַלְמָנוֹת, בַּעֲצוּבַת לֵב וְרוּחַ נְכֵאָה כּוֹנַנְתִּי אֲשׁוּרַי לָבוֹא הֲלוֹם עַל מְקוֹם מְנוּחַת אַלּוּף נְעוּרָי, לִשְׁפּוֹךְ נַפְשִׁי אֵלֶיךָ עַל נִשְׁמָתוֹ הַטְּהוֹרָה נִפְרְדָה מִמֶּנִּי בִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב, לַעֲלוֹת אֶל מְקוֹם עַיִן לֹא רָאֲתָה זוּלָתֶךָ, וַאֲנִי נִשְׁאַרְתִּי לְבַדִּי עֲזוּבָה וְגַלְמוּדָה בְּאֵין מְנַחֵם, וְרַק עָלֶיךָ יְיָ הָשְׁלַכְתִּי יְהָבִי בְצָרָתִי אֲשֶׁר עָבְרָה עַל רֹאשִׁי, אָנָּא יְיְ הַקְשִׁיבָה לְקוֹל (שמי)... ... ... ... ... ... אֲמָתְךָ וּרְצֵה תְּפִלַּת אַלְמָנָה קְשַׁת רוּחַ הַמִּתְפַּלֶּלֶת אֵלֶיךָ מִקִירוֹת לִבָּהּ הַנִשְׁבָּר בְּעַד בַּעְלָהּ הַיָּקָר, עֲשֵׂה עִמּוֹ חֶסֶד כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה תָמִיד עִמָּדִי, הַעֲנִיקֵהוּ מֵאַהֲבָתְךָ אַהֲבַת עוֹלָם כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲהָבַנִי בְּבַר לְבָבוֹ כָּל יְמֵי הֶיוֹתוֹ עֲלֵי אָרֶץ, נְטַע אָהֳלֵי אָבְדְנוֹ, כַּאֲשֶׁר נָטַע אָהֳלִי, הַשְׁקֵהוּ מִנַּחַל עֲדָנֶיךָ וְהַשְׂבִּיעֵהוּ בְּשׂוֹבַע שְׂמָחוֹת נְעִמוֹת נֶצַח, תָּלִין בְּטוֹב נַפְשׁוֹ עִם נִשְׁמוֹת צַדִּיקֵי עוֹלָם הַיּוֹשְׁבִים רִאשׁוֹנָה לִפְנֵי הֲדוֹם כִּסְאֶךָ, וְכַאֲשֶׁר פָּרַשׂ אֶת כְּנָפָיו עַל אֲמָתֶךָ כֵּן אֶפְרוֹשׂ אֶת כַּפַּי לְפָנֶיךָ צוּרִי, לַחֲסוֹת נִשְׁמָתוֹ בְּצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ לְהִתְעַנֵּג מִזִיו כְּבוֹד קָדְשֶׁךָ, וְהָיָה כִּי תִפְקוֹד אֶת מַעֲשָׂיו הַטּוֹבִים אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה וְתִזְכְּרֵהוּ לְטוֹבָה, תִּזְכֹּר גַּם אוֹתִי לְטוֹבָה בַּעֲבוּרוֹ (תֵּן לִי הַכֹּחַ וְהָאֱיָל לְגַדֵּל אֶת יוֹצְאֵי חֲלָצַי לְרָצוֹן לְפָנֶיךָ וְתֵן בִּלְבָבָם לִירֹא אֶת שְׁמֶךָ לְעָבְדְךָ בְּלֵב שָׁלֵם וּלְכַבְּדֵנִי וְלְשְׁמוֹעַ בְּקוֹלִי כַּאֲשֶׁר כִּבְּדוּ וְיָרְאוּ אֶת אֲבִיהֶם הַיָּשָׁר, לְמַעַן יִמְצְאוּ חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּבְעֵינֵי כָל אָדָם) אָז תִּתְעַנַּג נַפְשׁוֹ בִּמְרוֹם שִׁבְתָּהּ וְרוּחִי הַנֶּעֱצֶבֶת תִּמְצָא נֹחַם עֲלֵי אָרֶץ. וְאַתָּה מָרוֹם לְעוֹלָם יְיָ, נַחֵם נָא אֶת נַפְשִׁי הַנִּשְׁבָּרָה, שְׁמַע קוֹל אִשָּׁה גַּלְמוּדָה, הַקּוֹרְאָה לְךָ מִן הַמֵּצַר בַּעֲטוֹף לִבָּהּ עַל אַדְמַת קוֹדֶשׁ מְקוֹם קֶבֶר שֶׁאָהֲבָה נַפְשָׁהּ, הֲלֹא גָדוֹל כַּיָּם שִׁבְרִי וַאֲרֻכָּה מִנִּי אֶרֶץ אֲבֵדָתִי, וְאִם אֲבֵדַת אִשָּׁה לְבַעֲלָהּ כְּחָרְבַּן מִקְדָּשְׁךָ הַשָּׁמֵם, אָז אָבְדָּן הַבַּעַל לְאִשְׁתּוֹ כְּחָרְבַּת עוֹלָם כֻּלּוֹ, אַךְ צַדִּיק אַתָּה יְיָ וְתָמִים פָּעֳלֶיךָ וּמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ יְשָׁרִים וְהַטוֹב בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַּעֲשֶׂה. אָנָא יְיָ רְפָה נָא אֶת מַכְאוֹבִי, וּגְדוֹר אֶת פִּרְצִי, תֵּן נֹחַם לְרוּחִי הַנִּשְׁבְּרָה, הַרְגִּיעַ אֶת רוּחִי וְאַבְלִיגָה עַל יְגוֹנִי, עָזְרֵנִי בִּזְכוּת בַּעֲלִי הַנֶּחְמָד וּבִזְכוּת כָּל הַשּׁוֹכְבִים פֹּה וְהָגֵן עָלַי (וְעַל כָּל בָּנַי וּבְנוֹתַי) הֲלֹא אַתָּה יְיָ הַמְעוֹדֵד יָתוֹם וְאַלְמָנָה וְלִבָּהּ תַּרְנִין, אָז תָּגֵל גַּם נֶפֶשׁ בַּעְלִי בְּמִשְׁכָּנָהּ הָעֶלְיוֹן, שָׁם תַּעֲלוֹץ וְשָׁם תָּשִֹישֹ עַד עֵת קֵץ עַד תִּצָמֵדְנָה הַנְפָשׁוֹת הַנִּפְרָדוֹת בַּעֲבוֹתוֹת אַהֲבַת עוֹלָם בַּל תִּנָּתֵק לָנֶצַח, עֵת יִפָּתְחוּ הַקְבָרוֹת, יְשֵׁנֵי עָפָר יָקִיצוּ יָקוּמוּ מִמְִּנוּחָתָם לְהַחֲיוֹתָם עִם כָּל מֵתֵי עַמְךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל, אָמֵן

Merciful God, judge of the widows: With a grieving heart and saddened spirit, I direct my steps today to the resting place of the friend of my youth, to pour out my soul to You for his pure soul which, by Your good will, was separated from me, to rise to a place none but You may see. I am left alone, desolate without a comforter. Only in You, dear Lord, do I place my hopes in my distress which oppresses my mind. Oh, Lord: listen to the voice of Your servant, receive the prayer of a dispirited widow who prays to You from the deepest recesses of her broken heart in the merit of her beloved husband. Be gracious to him as you have ever been to me, bestow him with Your eternal love as I loved him wholeheartedly as long as he lived with me here on earth. Establish his residence as he established mine, let him drink of Your beloved brook and be satiated with abundant enjoyment of Your eternal love. Let his soul rest in goodness together with the souls of the righteous of the world who sit foremost before the foot stool of Your throne. And just as he has stretched his wings over me, Your servant, so I extend my hands in supplication to You, my rock, to shelter his soul in the shadow of Your wings and to enjoy the splendour of Your holy glory. Thus, if you recall the good deeds he did, remember me, too, for his sake as well. (Give me the strength and ability to raise my children to Your good pleasure, to instill into their hearts the fear of Your name, to serve You with a perfect heart, to honour me, and listen to my voice, as they honoured and respected their upright father, in order that they might find favour in Your eyes and in the eyes of all man.) Then his soul may delight in its lofty resting place, and my spirit may find solace here on earth. And You, O Lord, who is eternally exalted, please comfort my broken soul, hear the voice of an abandoned woman who cries out to You from the depths of her heart at this holy ground, the grave of her beloved soulmate. My despair is as great as the sea, and my loss is as irredeemable as the continents of land. And if a husband's loss of a wife is equated with the destruction of Your sanctuary, then the loss of a husband is, for his wife, to be equated to the destruction of the whole world. But You, O Lord, are righteous, Your deeds are perfect, Your judgments are correct, and You do what is good in Your eyes. O Lord, please heal my grief, repair my shattered life, give comfort to my broken spirit, grant my soul peace, and protect me (and my child(ren)) and enable me to bear my sorrow. In the merit of all those resting here, help me, and protect me (and my child(ren)) for You, O Lord, sustains the fatherless and the widow, gives joy to her heart whereby the soul of the husband can also rejoice. Thus, the soul of my husband in his uppermost sanctuary will be cheered, and will rejoice until the ultimate time when You, in Your everlasting love, release all souls, a time when the graves will open, those that lie in the dust will awaken and rise up from their resting place, and he will be revived together with all the dead of Your people Israel, Amen.

אָמַרְתְּ לַיְיָ אֲדֹנָי אָתָּה טוֹבָתִי בַּל עָלֶיךָ. לִקְדוֹשִׁים אֲשֶׁר בָּאָרֶץ הֵמָּה וְאַדִּירֵי כָּל חֶפְצִי בָם. הִנְּנִי בָאתִי הַיּוֹם עַל קֶבֶר :  אֲבִי אָבִיאֲבִי אִמִּי(ז) חוֹתְנִי(נ) חָמִיחַתָנִיבֶּן בְּנִיבֶּן בִּתִּיבֶּן אָחִיבֶּן אֲחוֹתִידּוֹדִיקְרוֹבִיאוֹמַנִילִכְבוֹדוֹ וְלִכְבוֹד נִשְׁמָתוֹ כִּי אַהֲבַת עוֹלָם אֲהַבְתִּיו, לְהִתְפַּלֵּל אֶל יוֹצֵר נִשְׁמָתוֹ, שֶׁתִּתְעַדֵּן בְּעֵדֶן אֱלֹהָיו, עִם נִשְׁמוֹת אֲבוֹתָיו בְּחֶמְלַת יְיָ אֱלֹהָיו, לְהַשְׂבִּיעַ מִטּוּבוֹ לְנִשְׁמָתוֹ בְּשׂבַע שְׁמָחוֹת, לְשַׂמְּחוֹ וּלְהַחֲלִיץ בְּקִבְרוֹ עַצְמוֹתָיו, וּמֵרַב טוּב הַצָּפוּן לַצַּדִּיקִים לְהַשְׁפִּיעוֹ, וּמִטַלּוֹ לְהוֹרִיד על רֹאשׁוֹ, וּבִתְחִיַּת הַמֵּתִים לְהַחֲיוֹתוֹ. וְגַם עָלַי אַתָּה יְיָ תִּגְמוֹל חַסְדֶךָ, לְהֵטִיב עִמִּי בִּזְכוּתוֹ, וּבִזְכוּת כָּל הַשּׁוֹכְבִים בִּשְׁכוּנָתוֹ, וּלְקַבֵּל תְּפִלָּתִי עִם תְּפִלָּתוֹ לְהָפֵר כָּל הַגְּזֵרוֹת הָרָעוֹת מִמֶּנִּי וּמִקְרוֹבָיו כַּאֲשֶׁר נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיִּים וְהַמֵּתִים בְּיָדֶךָ, וּתְקַבֵּל תְּפִלָּתֵנוּ לִפְנֵי כִסֵּא כְבוֹדֶךָ, וְשַמֵּחַ תְּשַׂמַּח אֵת נֶפֶשׁ עַבְדֶךָ (אֲמָתֶךָ) וּבָרְכֵנִי מִבִּרְכוֹתֶיךָ, לִרְאוֹת בְּטוֹבַת עוֹלָמֶךָ, וְאַל תְּשִׁיבֵנִי רֵיקָם מִלְּפָנֶיךָ, אָמֵן:

I say to God, You are the Lord from whom my goodness derives: in whose earth rest the holy ones and those ennobled for Your delight. Behold, I have today come to the grave of:

my father-in-law
my son-in-law
my grandson
my nephew
my uncle
my kinsman
my foster father
to honour him and to honour his soul, since I have loved him with an everlasting love; to pray for the benefit of his soul that it may find tranquility in the divine Eden with the souls of his ancestors, in the mercy of You, his God, to be satiated with Your goodness and for his soul to rejoice in abundance, his bones to be released from the troubles of the grave, to have reserved for him the many goodnesses kept for the righteous, to pour Your dew upon his head, and to bring him to life at the resurrection of the dead. And also direct Your grace upon me, and improve me, because of his merits and the merits of all who rest here beside him in the Divine prescence; receive my prayer with his and annul all bad sentences from me and my relatives as the souls of all living and dead are in Your hand. Receive our prayer before the throne of Your glory, cause the soul of Your servant special rejoicng, and bless me with Your blessings, to see the goodness of Your worlds, and let me not return empty-handed from before You, Amen.

מֶלֶךְ עוֹלָם שׁוֹכֵן בִּגְבוּרָה, אַתָּה גִבּוֹר לְעוֹלָם אֲדֹנָי. בָּאתִי הַיּוֹם לַקֶּבֶר הַגִּבּוֹר .... ... .... בֶּן .... .. .... חֲבֵרִי שֶׁנָּפַל עַל קִדּוּשׁ הַשֵּׁם, הָעָם, וְהָאָרֶץ. הוּא הָיָה לִי כְּאָח, מָגֵן עִמִּי וְעַל עַמִּי כְּשֶׁנִּלְחַמְנוּ בְּיַחַד, אָח לַנֶּשֶׁק וְכָתֵף אֶל כָּתֵף, כְּחַיָּלֵי צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל נֶגֶד שׂוֹנְאֵינוּ וְהוּא עָסַק כְּצֶאֱצָאֵי הַמַּכַּבִּים. זוֹכֵר (זוֹכֶרֶת) אֲנִי שֶׁהוּא הֵבִין אֶת הָעִיקָר בַּחַיִּים - לֹא לְהִתְפַּחֵד כְּלוּם; וּבִגְלַל זֶה הוּא חֲבֵר לְנֶשֶׁק מָלֵא אַחְדוּת וְטוֹב לֵב לְכָל אָדָם. אָנָּא יְיָ אֱלֹהִים תִּזְכּוֹר אוֹתוֹ עִם נִשְׁמוֹת הַצַּדִּיקִים וְהַצִּדְקָנִיּוֹת שֶׁיּוֹשְׁבִים עַל יַד כִּסְאֲךָ. וְגַם שְׁמַע נָא הַיּוֹם לְקוֹל עַבְדְּךָ הַמִּתְפַּלֵּל (אֲמָתְךָ הַמִּתְפַּלֶּלֶת) אֵלֶיךָ בְּעַד נִשְׁמָתוֹ הַשָּׁבָה אֵלֶיךָ. תְּהִי מְנוּחָתוֹ כָּבוֹד וְהַעֲלֵה אוֹתָהּ מַעְלָה מַעְלָה בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי. יִזְרַח כַּשֶּׁמֶשׁ אוֹרָה וְתָחֵל עַד עוֹלָם בְּאוֹר הַחַיִּים, וְלִי אֲנִי עַבְדְּךָ (אֲמָתְךָ) הָעֵר אַהֲבָתְךָ עָלַי וּלְמַעַן זְכוּת חֲבֵרִי .... ... .... בֶּן .... ... .... תִּתְּנֵנִי נָא לְחֵן לְחֶסֶד וּלְרַחֲמִים בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּסְלַח וּמְחַל לְכָל פְּשָׁעַי, שִׁמְעָה תְפִלָּתִי הַיּוֹם וְאַל תֶּחֱרַשׁ לְדִמְעָתִי וְאֶת חֲבֵרִי תִּפְקֹד בְּשָׁלוֹם וְנַפְשׁוֹ תְהִי צְרוּרָה בִּצְרוֹר הַחַיִּים עַד כִּי יָקִיצוּ כָל שֹׁכְבֵי קֶבֶר לַעֲמֹד לְגֹורָלָם לְקֵץ הַיָּמִין, אָמֵן:

King of the universe, residing in strength, I have come today to the grave of a brother-in-arms, ... ... .... son of .... ... .... , who fell in sactification of Your Name, the people, and the land. He was like a brother to me, a shield for me and my people as we fought together as brpthers-in-arms and stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the Israel Defence Forces against our enemies and he strove like a descendant of the Maccabees. I recall how he understood the essence of life - not to make oneself at all afraid; and therefore he was a comrade in arms full of unity and good heartedness. I beseech You, Lord God, remember him together with the souls of the righteous who dwell beside Your throne. And in his merit, I - who prays here today for his soul - ask You to protect me, to hear my voice, and that the expression of my desire will be conveyed to You in recognition of his soul. I trust in You, O Lord, and believe in Your name. Grant his soul everlasting rest and eternal tranquility, and in his peace may I too be granted peace. Remember please his deeds and do to him as is good in Your eyes, that it may be well with me for his sake and my soul may accord with his in harmony to fear Your Name until I depart this life and am no more. Strengthen me please in perfect fear of You, grant me strength to fulfill Your commandments with a perfect heart; and may the words of my mouth come pleasingly to You, Amen.

מֶלֶךְ עוֹלָם שׁוֹכֵן בִּגְבוּרָה, אַתָּה גִבּוֹר לְעוֹלָם אֲדֹנָי. בָּאתִי הַיּוֹם לַקֶּבֶר הַגִּבּוֹרָה .... ... .... בַּת .... ... .... חֲבֵרָתִי שֶׁנָּפְלָה עַל קִדּוּשׁ הַשֵּׁם, הָעָם וְהָאָרֶץ. הִיא הָיְתָה לִי כְּאָחוֹת, מָגֵן עִמִּי וְעַל עַמִּי כְּשֶׁנִּלְחַמְנוּ בְּיַחַד, אָחוֹת לַנֶּשֶׁק וְכָתֵף אֶל־כָּתֵף, כְּחַיָּלֵי צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל נֶגֶד שׂוֹנְאֵינוּ, וְעָסְקָה כְּצֶאֱצָאֵי הַמַּכַּבִּים. זוֹכֵר (זוֹכֶרֶת) אֲנִי שֶׁהִיא מְבִינָה אֶת הָעִיקָר בַּחַיִּים: לֹא לְהִתְפַּחֵד כְּלוּם וּבִגְלַל זֶה הִיא חֲבֵרָה לְנֶשֶׁק מָלֵאָה אַחְדוּת וְלֵב טוֹב. אָנָּא יְיָ אֱלֹהִים תִּזְכּוֹר אוֹתָהּ עִם נִשְׁמוֹת הַצַּדִּיקִים וְהַצִּדְקָנִיּוֹת שֶׁיּוֹשְׁבִים עַל יַד כִּסְאֲךָ. וְגַם שְׁמַע נָא הַיּוֹם לְקוֹל עַבְדְּךָ הַמִּתְפַּלֵּל (אֲמָתְךָ הַמִּתְפַּלֶּלֶת) אֵלֶיךָ בְּעַד נִשְׁמָתָהּ הַשָּׁבָה אֵלֶיךָ. תְּהִי מְנוּחָתָהּ כָּבוֹד וְהַעֲלֵה אוֹתָהּ מַעְלָה מַעְלָה בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי. יִזְרַח כַּשֶּׁמֶשׁ אוֹרָה וְתָחֵל עַד עוֹלָם בְּאוֹר הַחַיִּים, וְלִי אֲנִי עַבְדְּךָ (אֲמָתְךָ) הָעֵר אַהֲבָתְךָ עָלַי וּלְמַעַן זְכוּת חֲבֵרָתִי .... ... .... בַּת .... ... .... תִּתְּנֵנִי נָא לְחֵן לְחֶסֶד וּלְרַחֲמִים בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּסְלַח וּמְחַל לְכָל פְּשָׁעַי, שִׁמְעָה תְפִלָּתִי הַיּוֹם וְאַל תֶּחֱרַשׁ לְדִמְעָתִי וְאֶת חֲבֵרָתִי תִּפְקֹד בְּשָׁלוֹם וְנַפְשָׁהּ תְהִי צְרוּרָה בִּצְרוֹר הַחַיִּים עַד כִּי יָקִיצוּ כָל שֹׁכְבֵי קֶבֶר לַעֲמֹד לְגֹורָלָם לְקֵץ הַיָּמִין, אָמֵן:

King of the universe, residing in strength, I have come today to the grave of a warrior, ... ... .... daughter of .... ... .... , who fell in sactification of Your Name, the people, and the land. She was like a sister to me, a shield for me and my people as we fought together in the Israel Defence Forces against our enemies and she strove like a descendant of the Maccabees. I recall how she understood the essence of life - not to make oneself at all afraid; and therefore she was a comrade in arms full of unity and good heartedness. I beseech You, Lord God, remember her together with the souls of the righteous who dwell beside Your throne. And in her merit, I - who prays here today for her soul - ask You to protect me, to hear my voice, and that the expression of my desire will be conveyed to You in recognition of her soul. I trust in You, O Lord, and believe in Your name. Grant her soul everlasting rest and eternal tranquility, and in her peace may I too be granted peace. Remember please her deeds and do to her as is good in Your eyes, that it may be well with me for her sake and my soul may accord with hers in harmony to fear Your Name until I depart this life and am no more. Merciful and gracious God, listen to this prayer and the supplication which Your servants pray before You today, here at the destination of all living beings, for the sick person: (insert given Hebrew name) ... .... ... son of (insert mother's given Hebrew name) ... ... .... who is in a most perilous condition and a fierce disease affects him, whose soul cannot be nourished and approaches the gates of death, whose heart is inflamed within him and who has difficulty even breathing. The Most High has sent affliction to his bones and they threaten to collapse. His head and body weigh heavily upon him, evil and serious ailments surround him. Oh, Lord, please provide salvation. Have mercy and heal his soul, guard his feet from stumbling, distance him from wild animals and all the evil diseases of Egypt, and deliver his soul from death. And if he has sinned against You, do not repay him his due. You are God, the King who sits on the throne of mercy, who created His world with the attribute of mercy, to have mercy on all His people Israel. Therefore remember, note, forgive, have mercy, protect, save and cure (insert given Hebrew name) ... ... son of (insert mother's given Hebrew name) ... ... ... who seeks from the Lord his God, charity, grace, mercy, life and peace, and a long- lasting cure. Have mercy upon him and his deeds, and let it be said he was saved from descending into darkness but found light. O King of kings, in Your mercy give him life, and fulfill in him the written verse: "the Lord your God is a merciful God, He will neither forsake you nor destroy you, and will not forget the covenant made with Your ancestors and which He swore to them as it says: "like a father over his children God will have mercy on those who worship Him. Forgiving and merciful is the Lord, slow to anger and magnanimous in graciousness". King, King of all kings, in Your mercy and grace, turn away all serious ailments from him, save him from the dustpan of destiny, protect him from the raging plague, free his soul from perdition by making it shine in the light of life. King, King of all kings, in Your mercy, heal him with a complete and lasting healing and grant him a life that is quiet, tranquil, peaceful and blessed. As it is written: "You shall have added to you length of days, years of life, and peace". And in the merit of those who sleep in the dust, and the pious of the world who are buried here, protect him, add days to his days, years to his years; grant him power and strength, revive his defences, let him live for evermore without fear of perdition. Bless him with Heaven's blessings, heal him, and direct him to health again, to live for many days more on earth in peace and tranquility, let his twilight days be spent in goodness, his twilight years in happiness, from now and for ever, Amen.

לְךָ יְיָ הַנוֹתֵן לֶחֶם לְכָל בָּשָׂר וּמֵכִין לָעוֹרֵב צֵידוֹ כִּי יְלָדָיו אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׁוְעוּ יְהִי נָא לְרָצוֹן לְפָנֶיךָ לָתֶת לִי מָזוֹן וְצֵידָה מִדֵּי יוֹם וָיוֹם מִיָּדְךָ הַגְּדוֹלָה וְלֹא תַצְרִיכֵנִי לִידֵי מַתְּנַת בָּשָׂר וָדָם וְלֹא לִידֵי הַלְוָאתָם וּתְבָרְכֵנִי בְּכָל מַעֲשֵׂי יָדַי וְכָל אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי עוֹשֶׂה יִהְיֶה לִבְרָכָה וּלְחַיִּים טוֹבִים, שַׂבְּעֵנִי מִטוּבֶךָ וּפַרְנְסֵנִי בְּחַסְדְּךָ הַגָּדוֹל, הֱיֵה נָא עִמִּי וּשְׁמַע לִתְפִלָּתִי כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁמַעְתָּ לְיַעֲקֹב אָבִינוּ בְּצֵאתוֹ מֵחָרָן, וּתְכַלְכְּלֵנִי לָתֶת לִי לֶחֶם לֶאֱכֹל וּבֶגֶד לִלְבּוֹשׁ, וּבָרֵךְ אוֹתִי מֵאוֹצָרְךָ מִטַּל הַשָּׁמַיִם מֵעָל וּמִתְּהוֹם רוֹבֶצֶת תָּחַת, וְתָמְכֵנִי מִשִּׁפְעַת טוּבֶךָ שְׁלַח מִקּוֹדֶשׁ עֶזְרֶךָ וְהַטְרִיפֵנִי לֶחֶם חֻקִּי וְתֵן לִי כָּל צָרְכִּי בְּכָבוֹד וְלֹא בְּבִזָּיוֹן וְאַל תְּבִיאֵנִי לִידֵי נִסָיוֹן עַל יְדֵי עֹנִי וְדַלּוּת וּמֵרוֹב טוּבְךָ תַּשְׂבִּיעֵנִי וְתֵן לִי כָל מִשְׁאֲלוֹת לִבִּי וּמִשְׁאֲלוֹת כָּל יִשְׂרָאֶל עַמְּךָ לְטוֹבָה וְהַרְאֵנִי יִשְׁעֲךָ לְהַשְׂבִּיעֵנִי בִּרְצוֹנְךָ כַכָּתוּב עֵינֵי כֹל אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּ וְאַתָּה נוֹתֵן לָהֶם אֶת אָכְלָם בְּעִתּוֹ, פּוֹתֵחַ אֶת יָדֶךָ וּמַשְׂבִּיעַ לְכָל חַי רָצוֹן וְכַכָּתוּב הַשְׁלֵךְ עַל יְיָ יְהָבְךָ וְהוּא יְכַלְכְּלֶךָ וְכָתוּב נוֹתֵן לֶחֶם לְכָל בָּשָׂר כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ, וִיקֻיַּם בִּי מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב בֵּין הָעַרְבַּיִם תֹּאכְלוּ בָשָׂר וּבַבֹּקֶר תִּשְׂבְּעוּ לָחֶם וְיָגֵן נָא זְכוּת כָּל הַקְּדוֹשִׁים הַנִּקְבָּרִים הֲלוֹם עָלָי וּתְבָרֵךְ נַפְשִׁי בִּגְלַל מַעֲשֵׂיהֶם הַטּוֹבִים וְאַל תְּשִׁיבֵנִי רֵיקָם מִלְּפָנֶיךָ אָמֵן:

You, O Lord, give bread to all flesh, and prepare the evening meal for them, that their children may seek refuge in You. May it be pleasing in Your sight to give me food and drink each day from Your great hand, and do not require me to offer sacrifices of flesh and blood, nor to borrow from You; and bless me in all the works of my hands, and in all that I do for blessings and a good life, satisfy me with Your goodness and overshadow me with Your great mercy. Be with me and hear my prayer as You heard our father Jacob when he came out of Haran. Sustain me and give me bread to eat and clothing to wear. Bless me with Your treasure, with the dew of heaven above and with the deep beneath. Strengthen me. In the abundance of Your goodness, send Your help from the sanctuary and feed me with the bread of my righteousness. Give me all my needs in honour and not in disgrace. Do not bring me into temptation at the hands of the poor and needy. And out of Your great goodness satisfy me. Grant me all the desires of my heart and the desires of all Your people Israel for good. And show me Your will to satisfy me in Your will, as it is written: "The eyes of all will look to you, and you will give them their food in due season. You will open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing". And as it is written: "Cast a net on the waters of your mouth, and He will satisfy you." And as it is written: "Give bread to all flesh, for his mercy endures forever." And they will fulfill a commandment that is written: "You will eat meat, and in the morning you will be satisfied." And may the merit of all the righteous buried here be upon me, and may You bless my soul because of their good deeds, and may You not send me away empty from Your presence. Amen.

אֵל מָלֵא רַחֲמִים שׁוֹכֵן בַּמְּרוֹמִים הַמְצֵא מְנוּחָה נְכוֹנָה עַל כַּנְפֵי הַשְּׁכִינָה בְּמַעֲלוֹת קְדוֹשִׁים וּטְהוֹרִים כְּזֹהַר הָרָקִיעַ מַזְהִירִים אֶת נִשְׁמַת: … … בֶּן … … שֶׁהָלַךְ לְעוֹלָמוֹ בַּעֲבוּר שֶׁבְּלִי נֶדֶר אֶתֵּן צְדָקָה בְּעַד הַזְכָּרַת נִשְׁמָתוֹ בְּגַן עֵדֶן תְּהֵא מְנוּחָתוֹ לָכֵן בַּעַל הָרַחֲמִים יַסְתִירֵהוּ בְּסֵתֶר כְּנָפָיו לְעוֹלָמִים וְיִצְרוֹר בִּצְרוֹר הַחַיִּים אֶת נִשְׁמָתוֹ, יְיָ הוּא נַחֲלָתוֹ, וְיָנוּחַ בְּשָׁלוֹם עַל מִשְׁכָּבוֹ וְנֹאמַר אָמֵן.

O God, full of mercy, Who dwells on high, grant true rest upon the wings of the Divine Presence in the exalted spheres of the holy and pure ones, who shine like the respelendence of the firmament, for the soul of (recite his Hebrew name) ... .... ... son of (recite his Father's Hebrew name) ... .... ... who has passed to his supernal world. In recognition of this and without it being a vow, I will make a charitable donation in remembrance of his soul, and may his resting place be in the garden of Eden. There may the All-Merciful One shelter him in the cover of His wings forever and bind his soul in the Bond of Eternal Life. The Lord is his heritage, and may he repose in peace in his resting place, and let us say Amen.
